How the Meadow Score works

The Meadow Score is a weighted average of published star ratings. Newer reviews count more: a review loses half its weight every 365 days. Reviews from verified customers count 1.5 times. To keep a few reviews from swinging the result, the score starts from the typical rating in the category as if it had 5 reviews, and it is shown once a business has 3 reviews. Reviews where the writer received something in return are left out or count less. Businesses cannot pay to change it.

Lovely rye, slightly pricey

Priya Sandhu Regular

Experience in August 2026

Their dark rye keeps for days and makes excellent toast. A loaf costs a little more than at the supermarket, but it is a different thing entirely. They also told me which bakes contain nuts without me having to ask twice.

What went well
Clear allergen information
What could be better
Prices have crept up

Great bakes, small seating area

Tom Okafor Regular

Experience in May 2026

The cheese and onion slice was still warm and the coffee was strong. There are only four tables, so on a wet morning you will probably take your order away. Staff were patient while I changed my mind twice.

What went well
Warm savouries
What could be better
Very little seating

Sourdough worth the early start

Hannah Whitfield Regular

Experience in August 2025

We arrived ten minutes after opening and the seeded loaves were already half gone. The crust is properly dark and the crumb is open without being holey. The cardamom buns sold out by nine, so go early if you want one.

What went well
Bread, buns and friendly staff
What could be better
Queue spills onto the pavement on Saturdays
