Brilliant for small-press zines
Review of Pagefold Comics and Zines
Experience in September 2026
Pagefold stocks dozens of locally made zines next to the usual comics. Staff recommended three artists from Leeds I now follow. The monthly drawing evening is relaxed and welcoming to beginners.

- Local artists and a welcoming drawing evening
- What could be better
- Opening hours are short midweek
- Range: 5 of 5
- Staff knowledge: 5 of 5
- Value: 4 of 5

The kind of shop you lose an hour in
Review of Second Chapter Books
Experience in August 2026
Second-hand fiction is sorted properly by author, and there is a shelf of local history I had never seen anywhere else. The owner found me an out-of-print title within a week and rang when it arrived.
- What went well
- Knowledgeable owner who tracks down books
- What could be better
- Card machine was down, cash only that day
